No Pika Pika.

My body and mind, which had been on a depression rollercoaster for several weeks, were turbulent,

but somehow, I managed to escape around the middle of this week..!

One of the things that helped me escape was

the book .

At first, I thought it was a bit of a trivial essay,

but it’s subtly profound, like Pyeongyang Naengmyeon.

Plus, some of the episodes were so funny I burst out laughing.

This week’s weekly diary is a record of the joy of finding my pace again (?!!)

and my gratitude to author Hong Hwan, who quietly contributed to it.

I’m carefully documenting it with a grateful heart.

[Industry Friends] pg.33

I don’t have friends in my industry. I’m not talking about acquaintances; I mean friends I’ve known since childhood or school aren’t in my industry. I’ve never really felt any inconvenience or difficulty because of this. However, recently, I saw two school friends working together in the same company and team. They solved a truly difficult and unreasonable work request with a single phrase, “Hey, hurry up and do this, you crazy bastard.” Seeing that, I realized for the first time that having industry friends can be a good thing.

[Pika Pika] pg.208

A colleague was continuously muttering “Pika Pika…” with a serious expression. When I asked why, they said they were going to watch the movie , and if they shouted “Pika Pika” at the theater counter, they’d get a free drink or popcorn upgrade. So, they were practicing how to say “Pika Pika” without feeling awkward or embarrassed. It was an incredible passion, especially for an introverted person.

The next morning, I went to my colleague and asked if their “Pika Pika” had gone well yesterday. With a gloomy expression, they replied that it had failed. The story was that they succeeded in saying “Pika Pika,” but as soon as they shouted it, a theater employee, looking flustered, quickly grabbed a walkie-talkie and yelled, “Manager! Manager! A customer just Pika Pika’d! Manager! They Pika Pika’d!” And then, the manager’s voice echoed through the theater, responding, “Pika Pika is not allowed at our branch.” It was such a sad and unfortunate incident that my heart felt heavy from that morning.

On a peaceful Sunday,

a green selfie on the way to return an overdue book 💚

Coincidentally, the book cover, my summer knit, and the surrounding trees

were all my favorite summer green 🌿🫶🏻

I survived the second week of June well and was happy. Bye-bye.

And just like that…

It was summer…🍀
