Summer Days that Sparkled in the Darkness

My summer memories were particularly dark and damp due to the unusually long monsoon season and persistent COVID-19. But thanks to the occasional shining moments in everyday life, I was able to spend my favorite season sparklingly.

Seongyun made a successful K League debut this year, (and recently even scored his first goal!! šŸŒŸāš½šŸ‘šŸ») He said he got paid, so he bought his sister something delicious, haha. We went to Sushi Sanwon Jongno for omakase.

No matter when I eat it, sushi is always dazzling… it shines… Sushi omakase is love.

This year’s Pastel Project is progressing slowly due to COVID, so it looks like it’ll become a long-term project 慠慠

Drawing Theodore from my favorite movie, Her, for my third piece! I’ve done the sketch, and now I’m continuously layering colors… Once it’s finished, I’ll reveal it with a flourish! But since 100% remote work has been extended until September, I’m sad I won’t be able to draw for a while..,😄

A stray cat I often encounter on my way home. She seems to be a mother with about two kittens, and they grow so fast every time I see them. The little kitties are cute, haha.

Smile Card 1st anniversary merchandise. It was on my desk when I came to work. The card-shaped chocolate is cute.

Minseom got married. So dignified. It was a church wedding, and it was truly beautiful✨ For the first time, I’ve developed a romantic ideal for church weddings!

After the wedding, we had lunch on Yejin Tour. I wonder how beautiful the wedding of the next bride-to-be, Seula, will be. Lately, friends around me are slowly starting to get married. These days, I’m really feeling myself getting older…

A shot added to the newly released handmade Dalgona Latte at Mon Chouchou. It’s a fantastic taste…!!!! It’s perfect for those days when you’re losing energy during your period, haha.

One day in July, when the sky was truly beautiful. Even with gentle clouds, the sky was so clear after the rain!

The cutting board I made, I use it quite well. Wine is love, both at home and outā€¦ā¤ļø

After practice for the summer performance concert, I stumbled into a bakery near Seoul National University of Education. It was an amazing hidden gem… packed with people. The bread was indeed delicious, haha.

This summer, the monsoon season was so, so long..šŸ’¦ On the way to my mom’s shop, raindrops twinkled on the pink-purple petals.

On a clear summer day, because the tree shadows and light cast on the apartment wall were beautiful.

I went bowling for the first time in ages. A wholesome bowling nightšŸ˜‹ Cheongdam Smashing Bowl. It felt like a Vegas hotel lobby, haha.

The first game was just a warm-up, so everyone was pretty much on par except for Yeonok, who’s good at bowling. It was truly amazing how all three of us ended up with the exact same score of 58 points, lol.

The light at sunset is beautiful every day, no matter how often I see it.

July’s Wednesday gathering was candle making. I made one regular black tea candle and a eucalyptus-based cake candle.

From here on, it’s the cake candle! The base color is lime~

Once the wax hardened completely, the colors came out clearly. My favorite pastel shades. So pretty!

Making candle cake toppings.

Tadah~~ The teacher said it looked like a vintage cake. It was another day I felt how a person’s personality and tendencies really shine through when they create a piece of art.šŸ˜†

For photo time, it looks even cuter placed on a plate..!

The soap and candle workshop in Ikseon-dong, I’ll have to come back to make soap next time!!!

On the day of the performance concert, we had a hearty lunch at Gilbert Burger! Ate a lot of greasy food and was happy 🄰

Waiting for rehearsal, I got sleepy after eating the burger, so I had an iced americano and cake! They said it was a famous place, but I forgot the name…

My oboe reed thread got tangled strangely 慠.慠 I couldn’t even play this one properly… Goodbye…

The reason I like summer is, because I was born in summer! hehe.

My last birthday party in my twenties was small and intimate. These days, I feel even more strongly that it’s reassuring and grateful to grow older with precious friends, and to have them by my side through good times and hard times. I guess I’m getting oldšŸ˜‚ć…Žć…Žć…Ž

Birthday party at Yangchul Sikdang, a place I’d wanted to visit!

Surprise cake. ClichĆ©d, but always a delightful birthday cakešŸŽ‚šŸ’•

Hehe. The cake and my dress that day were a perfect match. The cake was so pretty too, pink pastel is totally my style😘

A natural photo of the four of us, taken by the restaurant owner. So thoughtful!!! After only seeing photos taken with apps these days, this photo taken with a regular camera shows the beauty of the original✨

These are photos I’m really fond of after a long time.

Love you guys 🄳 My 29th birthday party was just perfect!

A long-awaited gathering of the Chilgi girlsšŸ’« Following last year’s memories in Oryu-dong, this year it was Itaewon Freedom, lol, no words needed, lol.

Good morning after tasting the best Sundaeguk ever~ I must have still been a little drunk…

One weekend, naengsam (frozen pork belly). Was it Suyu Hoegwan? The name is a bit hazy~

I don’t really like fruit much, but this summer’s peaches were delicious. I think I ate more fruit than ever before, lol. Peaches with white wine, how delicious is thatšŸ¤—

This year too, I had a health check-up with my mom and then a date! To escape the heat, we went to COEX~ We originally planned to go to Spain Club… but it was gone 慠慠 So we looked around and went into The Place. The taste was better than I expected!

We decided to have a ā€œTF-styleā€ lunch, so we came to Yeoksam Nyeok with the corporate card. I had no idea there was such a hip place so close to the office! No signboard either. So hip…

The cutlery and tableware are pretty tooā€¦āœØ

The food… truly fantastic taste..! Personally, the corn sauce gnocchi and the tomato seafood pasta, those two are my best picks!!!

I met Heejoo after two years. We naturally shared our daily lives and chatted, just like we saw each other last week, lol.

We came to eat instant tteokbokki, but,

A moment where our preferences were too obvious, lol. Neither of us eats the rice cakes in tteokbokki… I’m an eomuk person!!!

I suddenly really craved tuna sashimi… I wanted to eat Malta Tuna, but it’s expensive, so I’ll save it for later… I decided to save it for a better day next time, hehe.

As a substitute, we went to Tuna Doctor Jongno branch. The taste was good, but there were sooooo many people… It was too noisy 慠.慠 Still, the tuna tasted good.

Another summer of eating and drinking a lot. The last autumn and winter of my twenties are waiting. Let’s spend them healthily and without regretsšŸ˜·šŸŒŸšŸ™šŸ»
