The Sugarbowl Season Is Here

From spring to early summer,

A quick look back at my daily life.

On Labor Day, a date with Dad and Seonghwan. We each had a bowl of naengmyeon at Euljimyeonok. Since I’m not a big fan of cold food, I always prefer bibim-naengmyeon over mul-naengmyeon.

After lunch, we explored Jongno and visited Cafe Onion, which is said to be famous.

Being the curious person I am, I couldn’t resist asking why the name was Onion. The owner said that while looking for a location for the cafe, they saw an onion after finding a spot they liked~ haha.

It was also refreshing to see people sitting freely on the flat wooden benches. But I don’t like it when it’s too crowded.. ㅠㅠ

The flower garden in the center was really bright and pretty.

Bread I packed for my mom, who loves bread.

While we were in the area, we also visited Changdeokgung Palace. It was my first time at Changdeokgung!

It was quiet and peaceful, perfect for a leisurely stroll.

Exciting news: Hyeonji, who was attending law school, passed the bar exam!!!

Southeast Asian meal in Daehangno, full of memories ㅎㅎ My nostalgic beer, Bintang..!

A long-awaited gathering of the 7th cohort at Fork Dance. We met when we were fresh-faced twenty-year-olds, but now we’re all jaded adults. Still, our hearts are as fresh as ever…kiki

Second round was at a wine bar. How many bottles did we drink~ @.@

If I had to pick a famous line from the first half of 2020, it would be, “Falling in love isn’t a sin, is it!!!”

Watching “The World of the Married” together is so much fun!ㅋㅋㅋ Seriously, because of “The World of the Married,” we booked a hotel twice and watched it with the kids, drinking wine and chatting awayㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ It’s still such a hilarious situation when I think about it now, a truly lasting memory.ㅎㅎ

Brunch the next day, then bye-bye.

The hotel where we watched the final episode together.ㅋㅋㅋ Oh my.

For Parents’ Day dinner, Peking Duck!

Cute smile.

Pizza is always Pizza Hut Pan Pizza! Perfect with beer!

On the way home from work, the Han River I pass every day. It felt like a quick film reel on a very clear day.

On the way to work, the scenery I see every day while waiting for the bus. A refreshing early summer morning.

On a work-from-home day, Nini came over and we worked together. An early birthday present and a pretty birthday card.

After work, super, super refreshing beer with floating ice shards and meoktae (dried pollock)!

Had a luxurious dinner night with Mingdi after a long time. Slurping and munching at Oyster Bar Purcell. It’s a shame we couldn’t have white wine together.ㅠㅠ

And for the second round, a visit to the nostalgic Twelve Bar! A Cheongdam bar we come to for Bloody Marys haha.

First drink was a Bloody Mary. Ah, my mouth is watering… Next up was a Moscow Mule~

Mom whipped up this summer’s first kongguksu (cold soybean noodle soup).

Seula sent me a picture of Golden, saying he’s the most enviable kid in the world during lunchtime. He’s so incredibly cute that I immediately set him as my phone wallpaper.ㅎㅎㅎ Just looking at you is healingㅠㅠyouㅠㅠ

On Memorial Day, I spotted a Taegukgi (Korean flag) while passing through the neighborhood. The sentiment of displaying the flag is truly beautiful.

A feast at Outback with Seongyun. And I got my second famous quote of the year haha.

Eobokjaengban dinner with Seonghwan, Seongyun, and Dad. A Pyeongyang-style hotpot, simmered and eaten, a taste I sometimes crave.

Came out after grocery shopping, and the sky was so pretty.

The beautiful sky Minjeong sent me. My favorite pink-purple sky.

Minjeong’s housewarming party in Gyodae F.I.N.A.L.L.Y happened!!! Slowly… smoothly… the excitement built up, and we played until sunrise for the first time in agesㅋㅋㅋ

This year’s first watermelon.

The day I went to Hoehyeon-dong to buy LPs. Namsan, which I always saw far away from my office view, was right in front of me like this, so it was amazing and welcoming.

LP Love. A bundle of stories with the kind and passionate ownerㅎㅎㅎ I think I was there for over an hour.

For lunch, cold soba at Shinsegae Department Store Main Branch~ And then a shopping spree. Returned home happily with an armful of wine and cheese.ㅎㅎ

A fun gathering whenever we meet, we met up after a long time at Hand and Malt Brew Lab in Yongsan. The atmosphere was great, and the coconut-flavored beer was the best!!!

For the second round, of course, greasy pizza!

Days that passed through spring and arrived in summer. I’ll eat lots of delicious food and cherish many good stories in my heart.
